Polte Adds IoT Entrepreneur Daniel Collins to Advisory Board

By

According to a recent announcement, Polte Corporation, Cloud Location over Cellular (C-LoC) technology provider, has added Internet of Things (IoT) entrepreneur Daniel Collins to its advisory board.

Collins co-founded Jasper Technologies and served as CTO, helping grow the company into a major IoT Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform provider. In 2016, Cisco Systems acquired Jasper for $1.4B. Collins continued as the first CTO of the Cisco IoT business unit.

Collins previously held VP positions at Alcatel and TeleworX, in addition to consulting for AT&T Wireless as Chief Network Architect for the rollout of their GSM/GPRS network. He began his career at Ericsson as Product Manager helping launch the first GSM Network in the UK.

Collins is author of Carrier Grade Voice Over IP and co-author of two additional editions of this McGraw-Hill publication. He is also co-author of 3G Wireless Networks, also published by McGraw-Hill. Collins has authored or co-authored 47 patents.

“Daniel brings a level of expertise in the wireless, SaaS and IoT space that adds tremendous value to the Polte leadership team. His very successful startup experience with Jasper, as well as his decades of experience with cloud providers and telcos equips Polte with key strategic insights,” said Ed Chao, CEO, Polte. “We are thrilled to have Daniel join our team.”

Daniel Collins said, “Polte’s positioning technology is unparalleled in the market. Utilizing Cloud Location over Cellular (C-LoC) not only enables low cost, low power IoT devices, but adds chip-to-cloud security that will become a fundamental pillar for IoT solutions. I’m delighted to collaborate with Polte’s team and help them grow the company.”
