Cradlepoint Launches 5G-Optimized Wireless WAN Edge Router for Enterprise

By

Cradlepoint recently announced the new E3000 Series, a 5G-Optimized, all-in-one wireless edge router for enterprise branch deployment. The design reportedly optimizes performance and investment protection, enabling customers to deploy a wireless wide-area network (Wireless WAN) using LTE and Wi-Fi technology and, in the future, upgrade to 5G.

The COVID-19 pandemic has fueled an already growing demand for agile and rapidly deployable wireless WANs based on LTE for primary connectivity, and Cradlepoint said in the release that the E3000 Series is intended to directly target this market.

Packaged as part of the Cradlepoint NetCloud Enterprise Branch Service, the E3000 Series is designed to provide a mid-sized, enterprise-class “branch-in-a-box” solution, the company said. The E3000 contains an embedded Gigabit-Class LTE modem, integrated Wi-Fi 6, gigabit Ethernet ports for WAN/LAN connectivity, and expansion slots accommodate a secondary LTE modem module today with 5G modem and Bluetooth 5.0 modules slated for later in 2020.

“Cradlepoint is committed to being the first and best choice for enterprise Wireless WAN and 5G solutions,” said Todd Krautkremer, CMO, Cradlepoint. “We believe, as do many of our customers and partners, that Wireless WAN is the next big networking wave, driven by the emergence of 5G. The Cradlepoint E3000 Series, powered by NetCloud, is the latest addition to our next-generation of 5G-capable solutions, its design provides customers with no-compromise Gigabit-Class LTE performance and the most paths to a 5G future.”
