Microsoft Named Global IoT Platform of the Year

By

Microsoft, having one of the larger ecosystems of developers and partners that can integrate their systems into Azure IoT, is often the first company enterprises contact in their digital transformation journey. Using Azure, Microsoft provides integrated IoT solutions to enable enterprises to expand features, add applications and scale their systems during integration.

Frost and Sullivan recently recognized Microsoft with the Global IoT Platform of the Year Award for 2021. The award recognizes the market participant that exemplifies visionary innovation, market-leading performance and unmatched customer care.

"Microsoft is leading the IoT industry with its innovation and best-in-class technologies, such as its IoT platform, machine learning, artificial intelligence, digital twins, analytics, edge computing and much more," said Dilip Sarangan, an industry analyst at Frost and Sullivan.

IoT is an ecosystem of devices, systems, solutions and software that must be integrated seamlessly to transform an enterprise. Microsoft, at the forefront of the IoT revolution, will continue to work with its ecosystem partners to develop a range of vertical-specific solutions that address customer needs.

This, in turn, will help Microsoft demonstrate solutions to enterprises seeking a deeper understanding of IoT capabilities. In addition, the company is revolutionizing operations technology to allow enterprises to gain more control over their data and business processes with expertise in edge computing.

"Microsoft's end-to-end portfolio has helped it tackle a wide range of IoT deployments with large and small partners and customers globally,” said Dilip Sarangan, an industry analyst at Frost and Sullivan. “The company has developed and deployed solutions across almost all vertical markets, with a particularly large number of success stories in the industrial IoT segment."

Microsoft has played a key role in the IoT industry for decades. The company is offering a set of security solutions to identify, develop and secure devices on the network; and is undertaking comprehensive vulnerability management to ensure IoT devices and networks are completely secure, helping the company with industrial developments.

Explore the disruption and opportunity IoT and its related technologies are creating at IoT Evolution Expo,  taking place in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, June 21-24, 2022, part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW experience.
