GetWireless Announces New IoT Partnerships and LoRaWAN Support

By

Utilities – mainly water, gas, and electricity – are centerpieces around which our many creature comforts (and frankly, our survival itself) gravitate. Of course there’s also natural gas, transportation services, sewer, recycling and so on, but the first three are typically the most imperative.

That said, as technological advancements recondition our everyday lives, another utility is rising in imperativeness, and for good reason. Wireless connectivity and the current expectation of fast and reliable connectedness are ruling the digital roost. Thus, how we address the growth of and demand for upgraded wireless infrastructure will keep lighting the way of our shared future.

Enter GetWireless, a value-added distributor of wireless solutions for accelerated IoT initiatives. Since 2001, GetWireless has expertly provided embedded modules, end-device modems, intelligent gateways, signal boosters and other services, including channel development programs and strategic consultation. And, as of this year’s CES in Las Vegas, GetWireless and its community of resale partners have laid the groundwork to sell and support LoRaWAN technology.

GetWireless looks to offer the lowest-cost, easiest-to-deploy network plans, paired with hardware from select sources. To make this a reality, the company has entered into agreements with LoRaWAN network providers and is also collaborating with Semtech Corporation, a supplier of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors.

According to David Smith, Chair of the LoRa Alliance Certification Committee and the Vice President of Solutions at GetWireless, a supplementary objective in this endeavor is to further educate the channel community on – and to promote the adoption of – LoRaWAN tech.

“GetWireless is in a strong position, and is highly motivated, to be a channel enabler of LoRaWAN technology,” Smith said. “The objective is new and simplified connectivity offerings, in addition to the growing portfolio of LoRaWAN devices powered by Semtech technology,"

Marc Pegulu, Vice President of the Wireless and Sensing Product Group with Semtech, is also excited for this collaboration. “We are eager to work closely with GetWireless as they enable expansion of LoRaWAN into new market segments and complement the cellular and Wi-Fi based devices. GetWireless makes IoT easy to source and deploy with a strong history of working with IoT solutions providers.”

GetWireless is a Platinum Sponsor of the IoT Evolution Expo 2023, taking place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from February 14-17, 2023. Explore the opportunities of IoT and key advances in wireless connectivity and LoRaWAN at the IoT Evolution Expo, part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW experience. Participate in more than 100 business and technology conference sessions, workshops and keynotes, meet key suppliers in the exhibit hall, and network with prospective partners and customers during the many networking and other special events during the week. GetWireless will be in Booth #911 in the exhibit hall.
