Wavefront recently entered into a long-term agreement with Deutsche Telekom to collaborate in boosting the machine-to-machine market (M2M) in North America.
As an integral part of the collaboration, Wavefront will support startups and small and medium-sized wireless companies in Canada with its core accelerator program, which provides access to important services like testing resources, seminars, global market connections and advisory services.
Deutsche Telekom will also provide seamless access to its vast M2M resources and proactively engage with the global wireless community.
According to a recent report published by a market analysis company, Machina Research, the market in North America features a dramatic earning potential, with projected revenue of about $189.4 billion by the year 2017. This figure is over $78.5 billion for the revenue projected for 2013.
Talking about the North America’s market potential for M2M solutions, James Maynard, president and chief executive officer at Wavefront, said the M2M project is one the most rapidly growing segments in the global wireless ecosystem. Leveraging its power, this new collaboration will enable a valuable connection point between the impressive wireless talent of Canada and Deutsche Telekom’s expert technical skills, global reach and commercial capabilities.
Recently, Wavefront successfully launched a M2M Zone within its facilities in Vancouver, and eventually earned a great interest from the wireless community in North America. Deutsche Telekom will be present at the M2M Zone from February 2013 onward, generating access and “physical point of contact” for its M2M resources and solutions like M2M Develop Community and M2M Partner Portal.
At the same time, Deutsche Telekom will highlight some of its M2M solutions at the Zone, as a part of the collaboration. A series of events and seminars have been scheduled across North America to provide the companies an excellent opportunity to seamlessly connect with the global leader in M2M, Deutsche Telekom.
With regard to the new collaboration, Jurgan Hase, Head of Deutsche Telekom’s M2M Competence Center, stated that they are expecting an M2M solution for every need in the future, as today there’s an application for every purpose.
To boost the M2M market in North America, they have to target and promote the potentials of creative small companies and startups.
With this new partnership with Wavefront, the company plans to gain access to the emerging M2M market in North America, supporting business growth in this region.
