Hitachi Partners with Quake Global for M2M Telecommunications

By Ken Briodagh April 27, 2015

Quake Global, a provider of mobile communication devices for M2M, announced that it has reached an agreement with Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM) to supply telecommunications solutions for Hitachi’s worldwide fleet of construction equipment.

The solutions to be deployed will allow Hitachi to both monitor and control its fielded heavy and light equipment in addition to other assets. Hitachi’s corporate philosophy is to be active in the evolution of machinery and the meeting between human and business objectives that results in enriched living spaces for consumers.

“The variety of products that Quake is delivering to Hitachi is the next step in the evolution of communication devices that combine multiple network architectures into a single device that can communicate from virtually anywhere around the world,” said Polina Braunstein, President and CEO of Quake Global. “With the ability to locate, monitor, and control equipment, combined with the ability to process large data, the Hitachi product family enables Hitachi to continue to innovate in the creation of intelligent machinery.”

HCM's main product line is hydraulic excavators, and the company deploys many models, from medium-sized and mini excavators up to 780 ton earth movers. HCM is one of the global leaders in construction machinery, with manufacturing facilities all over the world, and with this announcement will become one of the most invested in M2M technology as well. HCM also markets wheel loaders, off-road dump trucks and other products made by HCM Group companies or in partnership with major manufacturers. These will also be connected to the company’s new M2M network.
