Sears Puts Focus on the Home with Connected Solutions Flagship Store

By Ken Briodagh June 29, 2015

Sears is going to launch a Connected Solutions flagship store at The Shops at Tanforan in San Bruno, California, according to an announcement June 19. The new space features a living room, kitchen, nursery, workout room, garage and outdoor area, so customers will be able to experience the benefits of smart technology firsthand.

Sears is preparing to expand its Connected Solutions program to hundreds of stores across the country. Online, members can experience the San Bruno store and shop for an even wider selection of smart products on the new Sears Connected Solutions site.

“Sears continues to be the authority in millions of American homes for products across all categories including appliances, fitness, auto, electronics and home,” said Ryan Ciovacco, President of Consumer Electronics and Connected Solutions, Sears Holdings. “Connected Solutions is smart, made simpler. It's more than just buying a device – it's creating an environment that allows our customers to see how smart technology has the potential to solve problems, save money and make life easier.”

Connected Solutions is organized in the following four categories in-store and online: Simply Entertaining for music and television; Simply Fit for members looking to track and monitor their steps and sleep habits; Simply Automated to help customers experience how to use a smartphone as a remote to automate and control lights, electronics and appliances in the home; and Simply Secure for home monitoring.

The Connected Home will be a featured subject area at the upcoming IoT Evolution Expo, from August 17 to 20 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
