Monitronics International and Alarm.com – two companies that focus on residential security – have announced their intention to extend their partnership that has Alarm.com supplying smart home devices and security services to Monitronics dealers.
Alarm.com offers its customers a number of hardware devices and services that can serve their needs for home security and wellness. Security cameras can sync with the company servers to record live video. Users can also maintain a schedule of temperatures in their households by controlling their thermostats via the Web. Smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktops can all remotely control all aspects of security and comfort to keep families safe and give them peace of mind.
Of course, the options become available to all its partners, including Monitronics, a point that Alarm.com President Steve Trundle notes in his statement regarding the continued relationship between these companies.
“We place great value on our long-term strategic partnership with Monitronics and we are excited to reaffirm our commitment going forward so that we can each provide great services to the leading independent security dealers in North America,” Trundle said. “We believe combining our leading smart home technology with Monitronics’ highly scalable operating platform will provide each company with a great opportunity to continue to expand adoption of smart home capabilities.”
Monitronics has more than 600 authorized dealers ready to supply these products to existing and future customers. The scope of the products they gain as part of this agreement gives Monitronics an advantage in its markets. Furthermore, the support that Alarm.com provides can help secure deals with clients.
Bruce Mungiguerra, the senior vice president of operations at Monitronics, mentioned this benefit in his statement. The Alarm.com Partner Services Platform gives Monitronics access to streamlined installation of products and continuing support and troubleshooting of issues once everything is set. Both companies can then make the commitment to staying with their customers through the life of any product or service.
This all plays into the growth of the Internet of Things (IoT). Connected homes play a large part in that field’s development by providing connected thermostats, cameras, garage door openers, and many more devices as fodder. The upcoming ITEXPO will feature several talks about the State of IoT and how telecoms will handle the demand of multiple IP addresses being associated with single-family residences.
