i-mate and Bharti Airtel Partner to Deliver JAMA 101

By Raju Shanbhag September 26, 2008
Bharti Airtel, an integrated telecom services provider in India, has partnered with i-mate, a global specialist in Microsoft devices and software applications, to launch the JAMA 101. Bharti Airtel is the first mobile operator to offer this device in India exclusively to its customers.

JAMA 101 is the one of the world's most compact Pocket PC phones. It features a large touch screen and comes with a stylish jet black finish. The JAMA 101 is considered to be a mini PC with a built in mobile, digital camera, and MP3 player.

The JAMA 101 is powered by a Samsung CPU at 300MHz, providing a smooth multimedia experience supported by Tri-band GSM/GPRS at 900/1800/1900MHz as well as Bluetooth. It supports 128MB of ROM and 64MB RAM which can be extended by micro SDTM expansion cards. It is a perfect multimedia companion for the customers with its 2.0 mega pixel camera.

Mobile users in India will now have the freedom to stay connected whenever, wherever they go, made possible by Windows Mobile 6 software. With the rising need to be connected in a 24/7 world, consumers and companies are looking for cost-effective ways to access data while on-the-go.

JAMA 101 features trusted and familiar software that supports wireless access to e-mail, phone, text messaging, browser, organizer and other mobile applications for $275. Users will also get additional benefits for data download of 50 MB/month of GPRS at $2.15. Through imate's sales channels, JAMA 101 will be widely available across India.

Jim Morrison, CEO, i-mate stated, “i-mate is synonymous with delivering stylish and powerful Windows Mobile devices for all types of customers and, we are delighted to partner with Bharti Airtel for the launch of JAMA 101. JAMA 101 is designed for those wanting an affordable and powerful smartphone for e-mail, Web browsing multimedia as well as business needs.”

“The association with Bharti Airtel is like coming together of two like-minded companies with the objective of leveraging each other's strengths. Diverse range of superior Windows Mobile powered devices customized to suit the unique requirements of individual customers are i-mate's major strengths while reaching out to the masses with its strong network base is Bharti Airtel's USP. All these factors make Bharti Airtel an ideal choice for i-mate's as its partner,” added Morrison.
