Dr. Neuhaus Telekommunikation GmbH, a provider of industrial and M2M communication systems, has recently selected NXP Semiconductors (News - Alert) to provide high-security chips for smart grid communication gateways, the company has announced.
The A-series from NXP is a result of NXP's long-time expertise in security technology. To safeguard the cryptographic keys and computations, it makes use of the advanced IntegralSecurity architecture of NXP's SmartMX high-security microcontrollers that provide hundreds of security features.
A smart grid should be safe, provide good performance and also should provide long life. NXP's A-series offers all this features. It also provides dependable authentication to the cloud and enables smart metering systems to get secure remote management. Also, the confidentiality and integrity of data exchanged between metering devices and head-end systems is assured with this product.
