Trakopolis and Honeywell Expand IoT Partnership for Connected Workers

Trakopolis IoT and Honeywell (News - Alert) recently have announced that they will renew and expand their ongoing partnership to market Honeywell’s ConneXt Loneworker safety solution. Protecting workers is an important element of the Industrial IoT world, not only because it’s, well, the right thing to do, but because workplace injuries and lost time on the job can directly impact productivity and even cause downtime.

In connection with entering into the renewed agreement, Trakopolis and Honeywell have said they will expand their joint sales and marketing efforts globally. In addition, the companies will collaborate on strategies to use the Trakopolis IoT Platform with other Honeywell connected safety products.

Honeywell's ConneXt Loneworker is designed to help companies ensure the safety of workers in the energy, utility and construction industries, whose employees often work in remote locations out of cell phone range. The solution includes a wearable, wireless gas detector, a satellite uplink for the worker's vehicle and Cloud technology from Trakopolis to optimize field operations. The technology also enables workers to alert the company immediately if they become injured and need help – even if they are out of cell phone range.
