HiberHilo Impresses Shell with Satellite Tech

By Maurice Nagle September 13, 2021

Remote monitoring solutions are accelerating IoT adoption, as increased efficiency, worker safety and bottom-line results are difficult to deny.

Hiber announced a new agreement with Shell, where the industrial IoT as-a-service startup will provide well integrity monitoring solutions around the globe.

Hiber’s end-to-end IoT solution HiberHilo, provides real-time well temperature and pressure measurements on unconnected wells in offshore and remote locations via satellite technology.

“After testing HiberHilo, the opportunity was clear,” said Ian Taylor, Global Principal Technical Expert for well integrity at Shell.

In addition to a reduction in travel to and from wells, Shell can take advantage of a wealth of data on well performance and integrity for improved safety at remote and offshore locations.

“HiberHilo is a simple solution to help oil and gas companies improve safety, optimize operations, and reduce their environmental footprint,” said Coen Jansen, Hiber chief strategy officer. “We’re thrilled to be working with Shell toward a technologically cleaner future. Hiber’s mission is connecting everything everywhere to deliver productivity and sustainability in global industrial IoT.”

We live in a data-driven world, where knowing is half the battle. HIber made its presence known launching the world’s first global IoT satellite network, now it’s planting a flag on the continent of market leadership.
