Angle-of-Arrival, or AoA, is a crucial distance-based positioning algorithm. Using AoA and, more recently, Bluetooth AoA, to calculate the exact location of an object in transit has myriad applications. These range from the improvement of location data for last-mile transportation of goods as part of smarter traffic systems, to consumer navigation for digital retail, to the precise positioning of equipment in factories and warehouses in order to lower power consumption and increase both workplace safety and performance.
The latter, in terms of the warehouse management industry, is where a new partnership has been struck between Navigine and Dusun. Navigine is a global provider of integrated positioning technologies; primarily, the company creates advanced mobile apps for high-precision asset tracking. Dusun, with its high-end, global IoT gateway hardware, seeks to create solutions fully applicable to smart offices, warehouses, and more.
Naturally, this IoT handshake, of sorts, makes sense. When you boil it down, the fruits of this joint effort are primed to be implemented in warehouses and other logistics facilities to set a new, comprehensive standard for optimizing asset management and safely securing staff members’ operational efficiencies. Being able to monitor real-time asset movement in conjunction with the sending of safety notifications for staff speaks to the win-win potential of this new Navigine-Dusun cooperation.
It's also worth noting that this isn’t the first time a platform-side solution has been set for implementation; only this time, it appears more solidified. Asset tracking without Bluetooth AoA has seen play in industrial IoT spheres, but it didn’t grant as many immediate worker and consumer benefits. But now, with Navigine and Dusun’s easy-to-install Bluetooth AoA positioning solutions, chock-full warehouse environments are projected to see more measurable benefits across the board.
