IoT Vendors Combine Forces to Offer Easy Solutions

Some companies in the IoT are working internally to develop end-to-end solutions to customers, but in a recent announcement, Multi-Tech (News - Alert) Systems and Solair have said they’ll give up the ego trip and work together to get their customers there quicker.

Multi-Tech is an IoT device specialist and Solair provides software tools to connect those devices to other devices and the cloud. This collaboration is designed to bring the power of the IoT to bear upon the challenges of companies of all sizes, double time.

MultiTech designs its products to be easy to use, are pre-certified with both network and industry certifications and have more than 22 million working examples in the field. Solair’s platform is all about helping customers make their own user-friendly Web-based IoT applications and analyze data from connected devices in a DIY, plug-and-play fashion.

“Solair’s vision of simplifying access to the Internet of Things is in tight alignment with our own mission to make connected technology easy to adopt and use,” said Daniel Quant, VP, Product Management and Marketing, MultiTech. “We are deeply committed to creating an open hardware platform onto which customers can layer additional software to suit their unique needs. Solair’s dedication to mining true business value from bits and bytes, paired with their suitability for businesses of any size, makes it a great choice for customers looking for fast return on investment.”

This team up will leverage the Solair platform to transform data collected and transmitted by MultiTech devices to help joint customers focus on business objectives without getting mired in technical complexities.

“MultiTech eliminates the hardware complexities of linking physical assets to the Internet with a variety of devices across a choice of wireless technologies and with a growing set of embedded intelligence,” said Tom Davis, CEO, Solair. “We’re delighted to work with such a well-established player in order to help our customers overcome this initial hurdle and to help their customers get over the final hurdle in developing their applications and driving real business intelligence as a result.”

They showed off the new joint venture at last week’s IoT Evolution Expo, and will also bring it out to CTIA (News - Alert) Super Mobility Week, both in Las Vegas.
