IoT Time: VoltDB to Star in Webinar, Gives Us a Preview

By Ken Briodagh February 16, 2016

In this episode of the IoT Time Podcast, Ken chats with Ryan Betts, CTO, VoltDB, to get some early intel ahead of his upcoming webinar, “Understanding the Operational Database Infrastructure for IoT and Fast Data.

The webinar is set for Thursday, February 18 at 1 p.m. ET. The emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) is proving to be more than a fad. Companies must strive to create unified IoT database services. These services have several requirements spanning both big and fast data, and need an architecture that can handle massive volumes of streaming data while simplifying the management of real time IoT data (such as last known location, last known reading, intraday data that requires scalable query access).

In the webinar, Betts will describe several data-as-a-service reference architectures for IoT and discuss a real use case highlighting how an in-memory operational database simplified a large-scale enterprise architecture to handle real-time data for IoT -- faster and smarter.
