By Ken Briodagh May 28, 2016

Hello, friends. This is the IoT Evolution World Week in Review. We’ll get to the news in just a bit, but first a quick reminder about the IoT Evolution Expo in Las Vegas, July 11 to 14. If you want to get in on it as a sponsor or exhibitor, now’s the time, so hook up with Matt Gleeson, our Biz Dev maestro.

Our features this week were all about the basics. In staff writer Chrissie Cluney’s article this week, she reminded you about the power of RFID for gathering useful data. And, in a guest column from Steve Hershberger, Cofounder and CEO, SteadyServ Technologies, in which he drills down to four solid tips for success in the IoT.

And now, the news:
Two members of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee, Rep. Bob Latta of Ohio and Rep. Peter Welch of Vermont, have announced the creation of a bipartisan working group to examine the IoT.

In a recent survey of 4,000 U.S. and U.K. consumers, Identity management company Gigya (News - Alert) reports that 52 percent of people would choose literally anything but a traditional username and password for account security, if given the option.

Saguna Networks, a Mobile Edge (News - Alert) Computing company closed a new $5 million financing round, led by CE Ventures and supported by the company's existing shareholders.

The partnership trend grows ever more solid and promising every day, and the newest evidence comes in the form of a new intelligent water management system, called Phyn, built in tandem by Belkin International and Uponor Corporation.

This week on the IoT Time Podcast, I sit down with Sean Riley, Director, Strategic Business Solutions, Software AG, to drill into the essence of the Supply Chain in the IoT. And, in a very special episode, I talk about upcoming the IoT Evolution Expo with Carl Ford (News - Alert) and Bill Sell, the creators of the content for the event, to be held July 11 to 17, and sponsor of this podcast.
