The Internet of Things is here today, and organizations are implementing it. Telit has the know-how and tools to help them do that, and do it quickly and efficiently.
That was the word from Telit CEO Fred Yentz in his IoT Evolution Expo keynote this morning. Iot Evolution Expo is collocated with ITEXPO in Fort Lauderdale, FL this week.
Four to five years ago it was hard to fill a room with an address about IoT, he said. Three years ago you could draw a crowd, he added. Today, he said, “people are all about getting it done, and they want to go fast.”
Telit can be a trusted advisor in those efforts, Yentz said. The company is probably the largest, publicly traded, exclusively focused IoT company in the marketplace, he added.
The company has more than 1,000 people dedicated to the IoT, and more than 6,500 customers worldwide.
“We’ve been in the IoT business forever, before it was called IoT, before it was even called M2M,” he said. And he added that, “We are awesome at device to data model.”
Telit thinks about the world of IoT in terms of end-to-end solutions, he added during his speech at the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., event.
Those solutions can leverage Telit modules, which enable 2G, 3G, 4G LTE (News - Alert), Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The company delivers this broad range of modules, he indicated, because IoT leverages a network of networks.
The company’s connectivity solutions have global reach, he said. And those solutions include not only data plans, but also a layer of intelligence on top of that. As a result, he said, an organization knows if a device is using more resources than expected, for example.
Telit helps make data intelligent and actionable, he emphasized. But while Telit is not a big data expert or killer app company, he said, the organization has a great collection of ecosystem partners.
