Globetouch, a world-wide provider of global connectivity solutions, has announced the appointment of enterprise expert and Silicon Valley technology innovator Riccardo Di Blasio as CEO.

Di Blasio comes with a strong background in the enterprise space, with a stellar track record of driving growth and operational excellence. With more than 20 years of experience, Di Blasio has a deep and informed knowledge of technology disruption and development, together with incisive business and investment acumen.

An operator-funded initiative, Globetouch has built a virtual and collaborative ecosystem of network operators, with the goal of providing global connectivity services together with advanced analytics. Its approach to IoT connectivity is designed to increase business opportunities and enable enterprises, operators, OTT providers, device distributors and OEMs to create new revenue streams.

Di Blasio has held key executive roles at several companies, including EMC (News - Alert) and VMware, and has worked in the Middle East, Latin America, Europe and North America. At EMC, he led worldwide sales for alliances and built and ran the EMC cloud service provider program worldwide. At VMware, he led worldwide sales and marketing organizations for vCloud, specializing in cloud computing and IaaS models and commercializing the platform through an ecosystem of service providers as well as end user clients.

Di Blasio replaces Globetouch’s Ori Sasson in this role, who will continue to support Globetouch as Vice Chairman. Di Blasio joins Globetouch from Cohesity, Inc, a Silicon Valley-based start-up in infrastructure storage, backed by Sequoia Capital (News - Alert) and Google Ventures, where he was COO. An investor in a number of Bay Area early stage start-ups, Di Blasio also cooperates as a board advisor with several venture capitalist funds. He is involved in key initiatives within the space industry to foster break-through technology start-ups into space programs, and is a member of the NASA iTech steering committee.

“I am delighted to be joining the Globetouch team at such an exciting point in the development of the company. The technology landscape continues to shift and change, driven by people with passion, imagination and a desire to build ever better solutions,” said Di Blasio. “I am proud and extremely keen to begin working with these people to shape the future of IoT connectivity.”
