IoT Evolution Speakers: Israel Alguindigue Speaks Out

By Ken Briodagh June 22, 2017

The IoT Evolution Expo is the only Internet of Things industry event focused on Enterprise-level strategic planning and engineering-lead solutions to IoT and IIoT challenges. We have invited a world-class speaking faculty to join us and help provide our conference delegates with the critical business intelligence they need to formulate strategy for the next year.

We reached out to our speakers and asked them for a preview for their sessions to give you a little taste of what to expect at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas July 17 to 20 for the IoT Evolution Expo. To register now, click here.

Israel Alguindigue is SVP, Industrial Practice, Uptake, a developer of products that solve industry pain points and enable new data-driven business models and revenue sources. In his session, “Managing Massive Data: The Great Challenge,” he and his co-presenters Julie McGowan of GLOBECOMM and Roger Rea of IBM (News - Alert) will address the deep need for better data management before the fire hose becomes a flood.

IoT Evolution: What will be some key points you plan to hit in your session?

Alguindigue: In the old days, we used to field various closed systems to enable reporting and local system management. Now, however, we are facing massive amounts of data being delivered in various formats. Streams and lakes of data are being gathered, but insight can still be elusive. How do IoT systems increase business intelligence in the enterprise?

IoTE: What will be some key points you plan to hit in your session?

IA: The challenges and opportunities provided by real time data, as well as the aggregation of this data with existing enterprise systems.

IoTE: What new insights can attendees expect to take home from your sessions(s)?

IA: What it takes to realize the true power of data science and analytics.

IoTE: Can you identify a few important trends influencing your sector of the IoT which will shape the path of the industry?

IA: Commoditization of data storage, Proliferation of sensors, Emergence of data science, Strengthening of data science and its algorithms, Relevance of computer security in the data era, Distributed computing.

IoTE: What are the biggest challenges facing the IoT? What are some important tools needed to overcome them?

IA: How to streamline data processing, including ingestion, normalization, spell checking and mapping for an entire ecosystem of data. The tools needed to overcome those challenges are data platforms that are designed from the ground up for the specific purpose of data science.

IoTE: Which vertical markets have the most to gain from IoT implementation?

IA: Rail, construction, agriculture, mining, aviation and energy all have the most to gain from IoT implementation and are leading the way.

IoTE: What sessions are you most looking forward to attending at the Expo?

IA: The Amazon way on IoT, Securing the IIOT, and almost all of what I see in the IoT Business Intelligence/Analytics and Industrial IoT conference tracks.
