IoT Evolution Speakers: James Turino Speaks Out

By Ken Briodagh July 07, 2017

The IoT Evolution Expo is the only Internet of Things industry event focused on Enterprise-level strategic planning and engineering-lead solutions to IoT and IIoT challenges. We have invited a world-class speaking faculty to join us and help provide our conference delegates with the critical business intelligence they need to formulate strategy for the next year.

We reached out to our speakers and asked them for a preview for their sessions to give you a little taste of what to expect at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas July 17 to 20 for the IoT Evolution Expo. To register now, click here.

James Turino is a Managing Partner at Drake Star Partners and over the past 20 years, he has advised numerous companies in the technology and communications industries on over $5 billion in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. In addition to his advisory roles, James has underwritten several principal equity and mezzanine investments in client companies. He will be part of the Money Matters panel alongside Michael Lenoce of MVP Capital, Michael Crawford of Q Advisors, Mike Walkley of Canaccord Genuity Research, Adam Tilow of Woodside Capital, Fred Thiel of Thiel Advisors, and Carl Ford (News - Alert) of Crossfire Media.

IoT Evolution World: What will be some key points you plan to hit during the panel?

James Turino: I’m on the Money Matters panel on Tuesday July 18 at 4:00 p.m. Topics I expect the panel discussion will cover include the following:

M&A and corporate finance update (we presented the attached slides at the Money Matters panel in February)

Strategic drivers of - and impediments to – M&A in the sector

Challenges that buyers and sellers are each facing in the M&A market

Where are opportunities for venture and middle market investors (vs areas that are overfunded or dominated by large players)

IoTEW: What sessions are you most looking forward to attending at the Expo?

JT: Some of the sessions I’m looking forward to are “Analyze This” (Tuesday at 10:00), IoT Business Intelligence/ Analytics (full track) and of course the keynotes!
