IoT Evolution Expo Day 2 Recap

By Ken Briodagh July 19, 2017
Hello again, my friends. This is another dispatch from the front line at the IoT Evolution Expo, where Tuesday, day two, brought us insights on Smart Cities, connectivity, the IIoT and two of our most popular analyst panels: Money Matters, and Analyze This.

We began with some breakout sessions, hotter than the 113 degree temperatures, including How to use Market Research to create IoT strategy for enterprises, and a session on NB-IoT and how it’s useful right now.

Next, we rolled into the Analyze This session, where our panelists Steve Brumer from 151 Advisors, Jessica Smith of Business Insider, Wes Sylvester of Cisco Systems, Keith Tamboer of James Brehm & Associates, Steve Bell of Heavy Reading, John Feland of Argus Insights and John Horn (News - Alert), downloaded a metric ton of industry insights directly into the brain matter of the hundreds of folks in the audience.

George Mulhern of Cradlepoint took the stage next to present the case for how IoT is riding a connectivity wave of 5G, LTE (News - Alert) and SD-WAN. Then, Henry Mittelman, of CEO Advisory Partners gave an inspirational talk on how knowledge is great, but strategic action is what leads to success.
There were so many amazing sessions in the keynote room, and the breakouts delivered tactics and strategy for the delegates that will help them evolve their businesses along with the changing IoT.

One of my favorite moments was the Keynote session that closed the conference for the day: Smart Vehicles in the Smart City. In it, I spoke with Khamis Abulgubein of Nokia and Daniel Herb from T-Mobile (News - Alert) about their collaborative project to revolutionize Smart Transport in the city, in partnership with Hertz. Vroom.

There was so much more, so keep watching for videos, recaps and interviews to pop into your feed.

See you tomorrow!
