In a recent announcement, Zentera (News - Alert) Systems, enclave-based security and connectivity provider for the multi-cloud, has made public the appointment of Mike Ichiriu as its new VP of Technology and Products. Ichiriu will lead Zentera's expansion of the company's products and services by building upon its award-winning CoIP technology and current offerings.

Ichiriu brings to Zentera over 20 years of practical experience leading engineering, product, marketing, and sales for companies in cybersecurity, datacenter, networking and IoT. His background encompasses networking, software and hardware systems. As VP of Applications Engineering at NetLogic Microsystems (News - Alert), a supplier of networking and multicore chips for infrastructure markets, Ichiriu was instrumental in growing the company from its inception to its IPO and $3.7 billion acquisition by Broadcom (News - Alert).

"Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and success to Zentera, as shown by his impressive track record. His role is critical to our emergence as a major force in enclave-based security and connectivity," said Jaushin Lee, CEO, Zentera. "As the recent recipient of numerous industry awards and recognition, including named as a Cool Vendor in Cloud Security by Gartner (News - Alert), Zentera is poised to catapult our industry-leading CoIP Security Enclave platform beyond anything that is currently available in the market."

Zentera's CoIP (Cloud over IP) solution protects application workloads by ensuring that security policies and implementations are consistent and elastic across diverse environments. CoIP includes application interlock, which allows companies to specify authorized applications and then lock that software with a unified overlay network. The CoIP overlay network, or enclave, fulfills the purpose of a software-defined perimeter. It is decoupled from the existing underlay network and can be up and running in less than a day.
