According to a recent release, Evans Distribution Systems, a provider of third-party logistics and supply chain solutions, has set out to improve its warehouse packing line with IoT by adding a machine vision AI solution.
Evans has deployed the ADLINK Edge Smart Pallet solution, according to the release, which will use two GigE cameras, an Edge AI Gateway (News - Alert) computer and ADLINK Edge software. Package contents reportedly are recorded and classified as they move along the packing line and rule-based analytics are designed to identify any incorrect contents.
The solution cross references the box contents on the packing line, via vision data, against the packing list on Evans’ Warehouse Management System and if an error is detected, it prints a label on the box to show that a manual quality check is required, according to the release.
