Trio Takes Aim at Smart Aquaculture in Asian Region

Intelligence breeds results. The IoT provides the potential of relieving some of the world’s biggest burdens. From sanitation, healthcare and manufacturing, to climate change and world hunger, intelligent solutions lay a foundation for an optimistic future.

HPE, SAS and Blue Aqua partnered to create a Smart Aquaculture Solution to aid local production of shrimp and fish in Vietnam, Singapore, India, Thailand and Indonesia.

The application will deliver farmers notifications of potential issues and best practice remedies. Leveraging collected data allows farmers insight on the quality of their aquatic crop.

“Developing AI capabilities is critical to the long-term success of the region’s smart farming programme,” explained Remco den Heijer, ASEAN Vice President at SAS (News - Alert). “Farmers have an amazing opportunity to evolve their methods and adapt to technology solutions that can help them be more efficient and achieve higher yields through smart farming. We are proud to be collaborating with Blue Aqua in this,” he added.

In specific, The Smart Aquaculture Solution monitors the culture environment to deliver actionable insight, gain maximum productivity, and exceed yield goals through sustainable high-quality farming.

“With food security a key priority, analytics can help in providing the critical insights that bring us to the next level in sustainable and efficient farm production to meet local demand,” said Dr Farshad Shishehchian, Group President, CEO & Founder, Blue Aqua International.

Sustainable farming is a challenge, to say the least. But inviting intelligence into decision-making, offers best practice guidance for one of the globe’s largest problems. I’m sure the IoT helps put food on your plate. Just saying.
