JFrog Bridges DevSecOps, IOT Gap

By Greg Tavarez June 07, 2022

Numerous enterprises are deploying IoT-based solutions today, which is creating new entry points for malicious packages and cybersecurity attacks. Developers ranked security at 46% and deployment at 31% among their top concerns in an Eclipse Foundation analyst survey. IoT solutions often run on unreliable networks and this can result in expensive product recalls, service outages and unnecessary site visits.

JFrog Ltd., the Liquid Software company and creators of the JFrog DevOps Platform, introduced JFrog Connect, a new solution designed to help developers update, manage, monitor and secure remote Linux and IoT devices at scale. With JFrog Connect, available immediately, companies will be able to manage devices using a consistent operational model and intuitive user interface across cloud, on-premises and multi-cloud deployments.

JFrog Connect key features include:

"The massively distributed nature of edge/IoT expands the enterprise attack surface and also exacerbates operational, cross-functional software update workflow challenges,” said Yoav Landman, co-founder and chief technology officer, JFrog. “JFrog Connect, integrated with the JFrog Platform, effectively helps companies manage automatic, continuous delivery of secure software updates from developers’ keystrokes to any distributed edge or fleet of connected things, while fortifying their software supply chain against emerging attack vectors.”

Regardless of industry, developers can automate DevSecOps activities with integrated best practices and continuous governance across the software development lifecycle using a unified solution which reduces deployment time and operational pain with JFrog Connect. Examples of select vertical customer use cases relying on JFrog Connect include drones and robots being monitored and updated in last-mile delivery services, restaurants and hotels; and wellhead monitoring for oil and gas workers.

Through a modern DevOps platform, JFrog Connect is starting a new era of software automation, traceability and security to the world of connected devices.
