Toolie Tracks Equipment, Worker Productivity

A groundskeeping crew is finished with a lawn and packed up, but they do not realize they left behind a leaf blower and weed eater. With no way to track these missing items, and if the customer does not call the crew about the lost items, this will be a setback for the crew in terms of revenue and productivity. They may have to go out and buy new equipment – at the very least, they will spend time and money going back to retrieve the items.

Momentum IoT launched Toolie, a small device that attaches to any equipment or tool, and tracks usage and location. Toolie will enable managers to visualize employee activity and does not depend on pairing phones to beacons in the field.

The Toolie is always on and only works with Momentum (News - Alert) IoT’s GPS/cellular trackers in company vehicles, making it secure and reliable. Seen from the tracker, pins on the map will send an alert when tools are left behind.

The built-in motion detection will let users know when a tool is active at the site. This is a way to confirm that employees are using their equipment while at the site, raising productivity. Users will see when equipment is active on the site, gaining workflow insights. Users can also verify the right tools were used at the right time, so they increase quality at every job, reduce customer callbacks and improve satisfaction, and save money – and also increase new revenue opportunities from positive feedback and recommendations.
