IoT solutions provider Kore, after going public in 2021, predicted that the IoT market is in for a big decade by reaching a total of 75 billion devices by 2030. To some, that seemed like a bold prediction considering the number of IoT devices at the end of 2020 was 12 billion.
One of the reasons for the skepticism is that deploying IoT devices is not always an easy task. Enterprises face challenges such as compatibility, interoperability, connectivity and data security, just to name a few. But, the market is trying to overcome those obstacles. To reduce the complexities that come with IoT deployment, Kore entered an agreement with Ericsson to join the Ericsson (News - Alert) IoT Accelerator ecosystem.
The companies will enable visibility and control to easily monitor and manage globally deployed assets, deliver a high level of reliability and security through a dedicated IoT core network and offer a seamless technology experience with real-time analytics, plus a common interface and set of APIs.

"Our joint customers will enjoy a seamless experience built on a foundation of reliable customer and technology support that bolsters their ability to solve IoT deployment complexity."
Enterprises that take advantage of Kore’s IoT connectivity solutions will utilize Ericsson’s IoT connectivity management platform, IoT Accelerator. The platform allows enterprises to lower their costs, speed time to market, and scale more easily – all while maintaining high security. The platform has 8,500-plus onboarded enterprises, more than 90 million connections and at least 17 million eSIM connections.

This is the beginning of the Kore and Ericsson partnership as the two have a broader ambition. The two companies want to continue to grow and expand the mutual service ecosystems between Ericsson's IoT Accelerator and the Kore One IoT enablement platform and leverage the joint ecosystem scale with cloud providers and chipset manufacturers.
