HiveMQ Bends MQTT Data Transport Flexibility

By Greg Tavarez November 30, 2022

MQTT is pivotal for many manufacturing companies as it supports bi-directional messaging over unreliable networks and scales to various connected IoT devices that act as MQTT clients and publish messages to an MQTT broker. It’s a standard messaging protocol for IoT.

HiveMQ Enterprise is an MQTT broker that receives published messages and dispatches them to subscribing MQTT clients. The HiveMQ platform supports over 80,000 concurrent connected software clients generating over 90,000 messages per minute, according to HiveMQ.

In the automotive industry, for example, BMW Mobility Services utilizes the HiveMQ platform to deliver a more reliable service to its customers and operate in areas of unreliable network service.

The MQTT protocol is beneficial, but moving data during a time when enterprise customers are adopting multi-cloud strategies is a challenge. The HiveMQ Enterprise Extension for Amazon Kinesis is available to give customers the flexibility to integrate seamlessly with enterprise systems to support multi-cloud strategies and eliminate vendor lock-in.

The extension allows HiveMQ customers to integrate MQTT data reliably and securely to AWS, Microsoft (News - Alert) Azure or Google Cloud – or simultaneously in a multi-cloud environment.

The new HiveMQ Enterprise Extension for Amazon Kinesis offers:

“Our goal is to give customers a flexible and open foundation for MQTT data transport, no matter which cloud platform they choose,” said Christian Götz, CEO and co-founder of HiveMQ. “HiveMQ is perfectly positioned to allow them to avoid vendor lock-in and integrate data to any of these services for advanced analytics, machine learning, storage or other use cases.”

The early access version of the HiveMQ Enterprise Extension for Amazon Kinesis is available for download.

HiveMQ is a platinum sponsor at IoT Evolution Expo in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Feb. 14-17, 2023, where attendees will explore the disruption and opportunity IoT and its related technologies are creating as part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW experience. HiveMQ will be in Booth #747 in the exhibit hall.
