Okay, so perhaps this isn’t exactly a catchy, roll-off-the-tongue phrase in the way that “Location, Location, Location” is. Still, there’s a parallel. The former is a tried-and-true reminder; when considering value, a determining factor for hopeful homeowners can be the ‘where’ of it, i.e. the right location. This is why the latter, theoretically, could be analogous; a determining factor for tactical businesses embarking on new ventures is often the ‘who’ of it; with whom are we working via milestones like acquisitions.
Here, the ‘who’ starts with provider of manufacturing sensors for IoT devices, Interlink Electronics. A hair before the new year, Interlink (News - Alert) made the announcement that it had acquired the businesses of both KWJ Engineering and SPEC Sensors.
In the words of Steven N. Bronson, Chairman, President and CEO of Interlink, he is excited to add both to Interlink’s already-robust sensors portfolio and capabilities.
“We view this as the first of many acquisitions,” Bronson added, “that will enable our teams at Interlink to create a world-class diversified portfolio of cutting-edge sensor technologies.”
Bronson’s excitement is well-grounded, in terms of the value propositions behind KWJ and SPEC. KWJ provides innovations in gas detection; its advanced sensors and other gas-sensing technologies are designed for environment quality monitoring in industry, healthcare and in homes. Relatedly, SPEC manufactures high-performance sensors, sensor kits and sensor components for gas-sensing, as well. SPEC integrates this IoT and AoT gas-sensing technology into projects involving accurate measurements for indoor and outdoor air quality, ensuring safety in working conditions, breath analysis technology, and electrochemical sensors well-suited for wearables like smart watches.
Thus, the importance of Interlink’s two-fold acquisition.
