The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA (News - Alert)) is a not-for-profit industry organization that represents suppliers in the worldwide mobile communications ecosystem. In the GSA, suppliers of test equipment, applications, semiconductors, IoT devices, mobile support services and infrastructure overall are spotlit well.
In GSA news, the association officially confirmed at the end of February that its data identified more than 1,000 organizations (1,077, specifically) across 74 countries that are now deploying LTE or 5G Private Mobile Networks (News - Alert) (PMNs) in locations worldwide.

Joe Barrett, President of the association, shared encouraging statements about the GSA’s PMN data report and its findings.
“First off, 2022 was a record year,” Barrett began. “It eclipsed previous years, in terms of new customers announced, up 122 customer references from the previous quarter’s 955. However, surpassing the 1,000 organizations milestone is only part of the story. It doesn’t represent the total number of network deployments, or indeed the massive revenue being generated by this exciting market.”
“In many cases,” Barrett continued, “2022 was a year of even more substantial growth as customers began to transition from single-site to multi-site and larger deployments, and vendors reporting winning significant multi-million dollar contracts.”
When faced with a potentially tough economic forecast for 2023, Barrett closed with confidence.
“Despite what early signs may suggest, we believe investment in PMN infrastructure will remain strong due to the cost efficiencies and the importance of modernizing and optimizing communications infrastructures of many critical public and private industries.”
With robust networks and reliable network connectivity being so vital for players in IoT and IIoT spaces, fast and widespread expansions bode well for what else 2023 may yet have in store.
