But the emnify news doesn’t stop there.
Looking to make waves yet again, emnify has officially announced a new strategic and technological collaboration with Palo Alto (News - Alert)-based Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) service provider, Skylo. This collaboration will allow emnify customers to use 3GPP Rel-17 NTN-compliant radio user equipment for terrestrial cellular and satellite IoT connections. The solution, unpinned by Skylo’s global technology and managed via emnify’s unique web portal and APIs, will position emnify at the forefront of, per a representative, “a nascent revolution in IoT connectivity.” This collaboration is among the first of its kind to deliver dependable NTN support for IoT device fleets in need.
“Today, most enterprises are limited to using terrestrial mobile networks for wireless for IoT solutions,” said Alexander Schebler, Vice Present of Network Access at emnify. “They can opt for proprietary satellite network services from another service provider, but it’s more costly to do so.”
“But with us, this unified network integration will allow for the delivery of more resilient, flexible, and accessible solutions,” Schebler continued. “We’re redefining the future of IoT connectivity. With this collaboration, there’s no need for proprietary solutions and patchworks of IoT service subscriptions. emnify is expected to launch its service over Skylo’s NTN network in the second half of 2023.
