Today, that’s precisely what our news covers; specifically, OnAsset and its new product that expands into the territory of one of the most dominant megacorps and household names on the planet: Amazon.
Set to launch later this quarter, OnAsset’s newest product – a.k.a. the Sentinel 200 – is the latest cutting-edge iteration of the company’s Sentinel product line, and it is able to use Amazon Sidewalk for logistics-focused use cases.
To date, OnAsset’s Sentinel products have been successful in monitoring hundreds of thousands of shipments and assets daily. Compact, cost-effective, and with multi-year battery lives, these devices are equipped with temperature, humidity, light, shock, and motion sensors that provide granular, real-time data on the location, status, and chain-of-custody of assets and shipments moving through the global supply chain.
Imagine devices integrated into various forms of packaging, pallets, and containers. Via this integration, these become digitized assets; supply chain managers can more easily control inventory and track usage intelligence as the device-integrated assets are in transit. This washes senses of reassurance over OnAsset’s customers; they recognize the quality and efficiency of the logistical processes at play here. (Sentinel products are validated for use in CFR, GxP, and FDA regulated supply chains, making them ideal for both commercial and consumer users.)
And, as mentioned, the Sentinel 200 can now operate on Amazon Sidewalk. This means that OnAsset is assuring even more connectivity for and visibility into critical shipments and assets.
This also isn’t the first time we’ve penned news about Amazon Sidewalk, as of late; IoT provider Quectel has released its Sidewalk-compatible KG100S module, for example. News pieces like these will surely continue pouring out, given that Amazon has invited developers to test it. (With Sidewalk extending to 90% of the U.S. population – plus the free test kits being provided upon request), more companies nationwide and beyond will want a piece of this offer.
