ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives – conceived to clear the air (pun intended) of complex environmental and societally related issues – prove quite important for corporations. In the context of “a more stakeholder-centric approach to doing business” (per Diligent), a strong ESG framework takes into account various global nuances and the standards to which corporations can adhere to best show (not just tell) that their operations reflect a commitment to sustainability.
The long-story-short of it? Proper execution of ESG is basically a win-win-win situation across industries; environmentally conscious practices, first and foremost, are put into effect, and corporations also reap benefits vis-à-vis reputational gains, attracting more investors, and ideally fostering long-term innovation. (And of course, focuses on ESG resonate with tons of consumers and corporations’ employees alike; many, in fact, will only engage preferences-wise with brands that prioritize ESG.)
And speaking of ESG strategies “across industries,” this is, without a doubt, applicable to the Internet of Things (IoT).
