Comtech and E-Space believe in being “fluent in the future” and are determined to create “a new suite of global capabilities to improve lives and business efficiencies, and to build a smarter planet.”
How?
Hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and the-sky’s-the-limit services, respectively. Both are focused on terrestrial and non-terrestrial technologies and how a future of hybridized connectivity – be it by Constellations-as-a-Service and other resilient IoT innovations – so it makes a whole lot of sense why the two would announce an agreement to team up.
(I can almost hear Jean-Luc Picard, in “Star Trek,” saying “Make it so.” in the far-off cosmos.)
This is exactly what’s happened. (The team-up, not Picard’s command, albeit that’d also be very cool.) Comtech and E-Space have, indeed, announced their partnership to, per the announcement itself, “develop and deploy space-based communications solutions and IoT services to support predominantly government and targeted commercial customers.”
This collaboration will leverage Comtech’s portfolio of convergence (i.e. satellites and cellular, IP networking, location services, etc.) with E-Spaces future-forward advanced space system, including its global low Earth orbit (LEO) constellation to provide their customers with resilience at scale.
Speaking more about how IoT communications gaps can be bridged were Comtech CEO Ken Peterman and E-SPACE CEO Greg Wyler:
