Lately, Soracom Inc. has stayed quite busy.

And earlier today, a new Soracom story made headlines.
Here are the details:
Soracom, a provider of advanced IoT solutions, announced an expansion of its growing partnership web. Having already partnered with Sony Semiconductor Israel (as well as Kigen, a cellular IoT device authentication company) between 2021 and present day, it’s now that Soracom is expanding further on these existing partnerships to support the commercial deployment of next-gen iSIM technology for its customers.
Moreover, Soracom has expanded this collaboration to include new iSIM-compatible modules from fellow IoT companies Quectel and Murata.
The significance here? iSIM tech, as many IoT professionals already know, offers real advantages over SIM/eSIM tech; these include reduced physical size, simplifications made to circuitry, minimal board footprint, improved processing capacity, a simpler commercial distribution, energy savings, lower costs, etc. Soracom’s iSIM Proofs of Concept have moved into a commercially available phase, pleasing customers.
Particularly, customers already interested in the Quectel BG773 and Murata Type 1SC iSIM-compatible modules, for example.
From Murata:

And from Quectel:
“We are very pleased to offer Soracom customers the BG773, an LPWA module which features ultra-low power consumption and robust security that also supports LTE (News - Alert) Cat M1/Cat NB1/NB2," said Michael Wallon, SVP of Sales, APAC + ANZ at Quectel Wireless Solutions. “By combining our iSIM-enabled communication modules with Soracom’s connectivity platform, customers can easily implement integrated, cost-effective and sustainable IoT solutions while streamlining their global IoT deployment and paving the way to a smarter world.”
Big IoT names like Quectel, Murata, Kigen and Sony Semiconductor Israel understand that being at the forefront of breakthrough IoT developments is key to the industry’s evolution. Implementations that allow customers to develop advantages in costs, sizes, security and power consumption are all vital, signaling Soracom as another frontrunner in the seemingly exponentially scaling Internet of Things.
