As Coverage Demands Rise, emnify Delivers Cloud-Native IoT Connectivity for Brazilian Markets

By Alex Passett August 22, 2023

Last month, global cellular connectivity solutions provider emnify launched its new IoT eSIM platform, which presents enterprises with seamless integration with their existing IoT application and exceptional control over their best-possible connectivity. It covers a slew of other issues (including limited device lifespan and the lack of SIM customization options), and it still currently presents a big milestone for emnify on a large scale.

That said, emnify is taking its IoT SuperNetwork even further. Earlier this month, emnify announced that it will be establishing the first dedicated, cloud-native IoT connectivity in Brazil as part of a direct partnership with Claro Brasil.

Why Brazil? It’s simple. According to data from Transforma Insights, cellular-based IoT connections in Brazil are forecasted to grow from 29 million (i.e. what they were at the end of 2022) to 69 million by the end of 2027, a CAGR of 19.1%. Founding Partner Matt Hatton at Transforma Insights stated that “Brazil is the most prominent example of a country where strict roaming regulations have proven to be quite a challenge for IoT businesses looking to capture the opportunity in the market.”

But that’s exactly what emnify has done. “emnify’s IoT-specific network access – allied with its own cloud-native mobile core network – is a solution that specifically addresses the demands of the Brazilian market,” Hatton added.

The expansion of emnify’s SuperNetwork into a challenging market demonstrates the success of the company’s consistent cloud-native approach, rapid innovation-wise. In addition, an AWS Advanced Technology Partner, emnify will be the first to enable a complete AWS IoT cloud stack (including reliable connectivity) in Brazil – this means local customers can benefit from this native integration.

"We are proud to be the first cloud-native IoT connectivity provider to add Brazil to the growing list of countries where we currently offer coverage, delivering on the promise of the SuperNetwork," said Frank Stoecker, CEO of emnify. "Wherever you deploy IoT devices, the SuperNetwork provides a consistent and complete set of capabilities that include connectivity management, cross-network insights, device and data security, and a complete set of APIs, creating new levels of scalability and reducing operational friction.”
