Embracing Smarter AI Cameras for Safer, Cleaner, and More Intelligent Operations

By Alex Passett October 30, 2023

We’ve said it a thousand times, and I suspect we’ll say it several thousand more: Today’s technological landscapes are evolving at hyperfast speeds. Truly, businesses are finding ways to innovate at what experts consider to be an unprecedentedly fast rate; everything from advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) to how quickly smart Internet of Things (IoT) devices are proliferating, to autonomous vehicles, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) and robotics and much, much more. As waves of smarter technologies break on our shores and push boundaries, embracing what’s next in order to drive real change is what will continue to set the meter. Refusing to adapt may leave great opportunities (and the innovators behind them) on the periphery.

So, let’s talk about that, then – great opportunities. For this particular story, opportunities involving safer and smarter operations through Smarter AI, a software company that has specialized in transforming legacy IP cameras into full AI camera networks.

Smarter AI provides a wealth of camera-centric solutions; AI dashcams for precise ADAS and DMS when it comes to trusted fleet safety solutions, biothermal cameras for public spaces, bodycams that provide intelligent and accountable situational awareness, and even shelfcams for real-time inventory management and shelf inspection needs. These, no doubt, will continue to prove invaluable for enterprise operations that span industries and unique use cases.

As of late, Smarter AI made improvements to its vehicle cameras and computer vision solutions that enable safer fleet and smarter city operations. Specifically, these are great for the field services industry, as challenges there are growing increasingly complex in terms of issues with quality of service, public safety monitoring (i.e. especially in higher-density urban areas), measurable environmental impact, and what must be addressed with respect to regulatory compliance.

Field services workers won’t be able to forever rely on GPS and telematics (however advanced), as there are limits to real-time insights. This isn’t to say that those solutions aren’t useful, but many do fall short in addressing new challenges faced by industries that are ready to actively invest in even smarter solutions.

The benefits of Smarter AI’s vehicle camera-related solutions include the following:

Chris Piche, CEO of Smarter AI, had this to say:

“AI cameras are a game-changer in the field services industry, delivering visual intelligence for more effective and environmentally friendly urban maintenance. Smarter AI is on a mission to enable safer fleets and smarter cities. Our AI cameras and computer vision solutions enable municipalities to enhance their street-sweeping operations. This leads to innovation for Internet of Things applications, and it helps with reducing debris, minimizing pollutants, and ensuring cleaner, safer cities.”
