Transformative Scripting API for Updated IoT, Courtesy of Remote. It

Let’s talk about network connectivity platform provider Remote. It and of course IoT, shall we?

It’s no secret that even the top IoT solutions on the market today – as sophisticated as most are – still hit roadblocks when it comes to enhancing connectivity to totally circumvent update delivery constraints and the overall management of, as Remote. It describes, “diverse device types with highly unique firmware and other mechanisms.” Such blocks to interconnected IoT progress are especially prevalent in rugged/remote and difficult-to-access environments. (Connectivity is, after all, the lifeblood of IoT; a quote I’m fairly certain is forever etched in this IoT writer’s bones.)

So, what can be done?

Well, more reliably effective IoT device management measures are crucial; ensuring deployment requirements and schedules are consistently met, as well as the requisite visibility (and operator diligence, to boot) for keeping devices on as much of an up-to-date status as possible. Additionally, the capture and analysis of data from devices that may be distributed across different types of environments (especially ones that are more difficult to access, as mentioned above) must be streamlined for IoT fleets to be routinely successful.

In this vein, Remote. It has a new solution:

Scripting API.

Leveraging GraphQL, an open-source data query and manipulation language for APIs, Remote. It’s Scripting AI “empowers customers to oversee and enhance an extensive range of devices, including IoT devices deployed in diverse environments,” the company announced. Scripting API facilities reliable (and virtually effort-free) configuration updates, software upgrades and data capture. This solves many of the headaches we just spoke of, further streamlining IoT fleet operations.

For users, Remote. It’s Scripting API unlocks a whole cornucopia of benefits:

"We live in a world that is fully connected, but managing and maintaining fleets of networked assets remains an extraordinarily labor-intensive task," says Ryo Koyama, CEO and co-founder of Remote.It. "Like our Connectivity as Code solution for secure remote access, developers can programmatically manage their endpoints with just an API call. The days of SSHing into each endpoint are gone forever.”

Seems like it’s time to modernize, and Remote. It is on top of it.
