Anaren Appoints Jeff Liebl IoT Group President

By

Anaren has announced that Jeff Liebl has been named as president of the company’s Internet of Things (IoT) Group, to take effect November 1. The position is new within Anaren’s organizational structure to leverage the rapidly increasing growth in the IoT sector.

“Jeff’s extensive experience in the IoT market makes him an ideal candidate for this new role,” said Larry Sala, President and CEO, Anaren. “The Internet of Things is rapidly expanding and Jeff’s background will serve him well in leading the acceleration of Anaren’s IoT business, including strategy, product and business development, as well as marketing and sales channel management.”

Liebl has more than 15 years of experience in the wireless and IoT-related markets, including hardware, software and data analytics. He most recently served as chief marketing officer at Digi International. Prior to Digi, Liebl has held key positions at eBureau, Ubiquity Software, Jetstream Communications, and 3Com Corporation.

“With Jeff’s experience and leadership and the upcoming rollout of Anaren’s latest IoT products that include new Wi-Fi modules, development kits, and the next generation of our Atmosphere cloud software platform, the group is well positioned to capitalize on the rapidly expanding IoT market opportunity,” said Sala.

Anaren was founded in 1967 by Hugh A. Hair and Carl W. Gerst Jr. as a supplier of microwave components and subassemblies to the defense electronics market. In today’s IoT, Anaren is an innovator of standard products and custom microwave and RF technology. With five facilities worldwide, the company is organized into two operating groups, each one targeting a major industry sector: Space & Defense, which supports prime space and defense contractors, and the Wireless group that supports wireless infrastructure and consumer electronics OEMs.

New blood can make for a more aggressive firm, so watch for Anaren to make some interesting strategic moves over the next year.
