ServiceChannel Brings Machine Learning Solution to Facilities Management

By

In a recent announcement, ServiceChannel, a SaaS service automation platform for facilities managers and contractors, has introduced new advanced machine learning capabilities for its flagship solution, designed to enable faster, more automated data-driven decision making capabilities for facilities managers. The ServiceChannel Decision Engine will help facilities managers interact with data in new ways, through prescriptive analytics and historical data in the service workflow, with the goal of faster and smarter decision making, the company said in the release.

“Machine learning is truly changing everything today, and the facilities management industry is no exception. With machine learning, our vision for transforming how facilities management professionals work is boundless,” said Hugues Meyrath, chief product officer, ServiceChannel. “Decision Engine is revolutionizing decision making in facilities management by applying data and analytics to a previously arduous and manual process. This is the industry’s first step toward adopting the incredible technologies commonplace in more traditional markets, enabling the automation of repetitive tasks and driving unprecedented efficiency.”

As an addition to ServiceChannel’s Service Automation suite, Decision Engine will reportedly improve decision making processes with statistically derived, data-based insights. By leveraging more than 15 years of historical data and past decisions and applying prescriptive analytics, Decision Engine is set up to automate routine facilities management decisions and streamline daily processes.

“Advanced analytics has been instrumental for our business, allowing us to leverage our data to drive decisions, enabling increased transparency and performance while lowering costs in our facilities management program,” said Jon Ahrendt, director of facilities, Bloomin’ Brands, which owns Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. “We wouldn’t have achieved the cost savings that we have if we didn’t have a system in place to review data in real time and gain insights on our business. We are really excited about Decision Engine and what it would mean for our operations and the industry in general.”
