CTIA Reveals Policy Session Lineup for GSMA Mobile World Congress Americas

In a recent announcement, the CTIA, the U.S. wireless industry association, has revealed the policy session lineup for Mobile World Congress Americas (MWCA). A new mobile industry event, MWCA, was developed in partnership by GSMA and CTIA.

“Mobile World Congress Americas combines the resources of GSMA and CTIA and builds on our years of success with Super Mobility to create a premier showcase for the global mobile industry,” said Meredith Attwell Baker, President and CEO, CTIA. “Our joint show reflects an industry that is a major driver of the world’s economy and that is enabling innovations, like 5G, that will benefit billions of people around the world.

MWCA, taking place in San Francisco September 12 to 14 at the Moscone Center, will address the entire wireless ecosystem. C-Suite executives, tech innovators and senior government officials will participate in sessions on 5G, spectrum, infrastructure, IoT, self-driving cars and drones among other issues.

CTIA’s policy-focused sessions at MWCA will open with keynote addresses from Baker, and from Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai. Other senior government policymakers including FCC Commissioners Mignon Clyburn, Michael O’Rielly, and Brendan Carr, and key experts from the FCC, NTIA, NASA, the White House and the U.S. Congress will participate in a variety of policy sessions including:

• New Rules for New Technologies - How 5G is Generating a Renewed Focus on Infrastructure Siting Processes

• Answering the Call - Addressing Spectrums to Secure our 5G Future

• Washington Talks Wireless with Meredith Attwell Baker, FCC Commissioners

• Everything IoT: How Wireless Enables Connected Communities

“We’re excited to welcome the global wireless industry to San Francisco with GSMA for Mobile World Congress Americas which occurs at a key time in our evolution to a 5G world and the faster connectivity it will unleash for millions of consumers, businesses and innovators,” said Baker.

The IoT Evolution Enterprise Implementations Summit will take place on September 14, 2017 at the Moscone Center, in San Francisco as a part of the Mobile World Congress Americas program.
