SS7ware Showcases Software-Defined 2.5G/4G LTE Base Station during IoT Evolution Expo

By IoTEvolutionWorld News August 18, 2015

Created by SS7ware and Legba, Inc., SatSite base station uses software-defined radio technology to enable a seamless deployment of IoT networks.

Using a commercially available SDR board and off-the-shelf hardware, SatSite provides access for both GSM/GPRS and LTE using one equipment.

SatSite is a lightweight equipment that enables mobile operators to extend GSM IoT coverage to remote or rural areas and LTE in crowded urban areas.

During IoT Evolution Expo in Las Vegas (August 17-20, 2015), SS7ware will host a live demo  on August 18, at 6:15pm, in the Connected Services & Solutions Demo Zone at the Expo Hall Presentation Theatre. The demonstration showcases network functionalities such as calls and SMS between devices registered on the SatSite base station.

SatSite BTS is a single equipment for both 2.5G and 4G LTE, connecting directly to the core network. Due to its software-defined nature, it can be easily used as a GSM/GPRS or LTE base station, with a simple software change.

SatSite caters to different mobile operators needs for coverage and bandwidth, with lower time to market, lower cost, and a resilient infrastructure.

SS7ware team can also be met during the Carrier Aggregation for Public Transport session on Wednesday August 19, 2:30pm.
