Latium Technologies Unleashes E-Sense on Mining Industry

The IoT Is no longer simply napkin logic. Over the past decade, innovation has illustrated real world applications offering more than return on investment but a result-oriented landscape. From factories and warehouses, to municipalities and mining operations, transformation is at hand.

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions provider Latium Technologies announced the arrival of the Ingenious E-Sense IoT sensor to offer mining firms a means to monitor high-voltage cable networks for fault or damage.

“High-voltage cables are an integral piece of infrastructure powering production assets in our mining operation. Identifying damaged segments using current tools can be time consuming and manually intensive. Currently, there is no solution to identify damaged segments and each cable must be checked individually,” says Aaron Somers, Superintendent Asset Health, Rio Tinto.

High-voltage cables power electric hydraulic excavators, rope shovels and other tools critical to productivity in the mine. The E-Sense solution accelerates diagnosis, determining exactly which segment requires replacement, without demanding engineers to walk the line, lose precious time and profits.

Latium Technologies CEO Mark Bryant, explained “This enables us to provide truly end-to-end digital transformation solutions to our clients that save time, improve safety, and enhance operational efficiency.”

In addition to mitigating many of the risks posed to electrical engineers, one of the top products of IoT intervention is efficiency.
