'Same IoT Experts, New Name' for Ezurio, formerly Laird Connectivity

By Alex Passett March 19, 2024

Last year, we dedicated a fair amount of coverage to an organization known at the time as Laird Connectivity. The team at this company held strong to its mission – simplify wireless connectivity with embedded system-on-modules (SOMs), IoT devices and internal antennas, as well as wireless modules for Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN, cellular, and Bluetooth.

Below are various topics we covered concerning this IoT organization:

And make no mistake, this organization is still very much active in 2024. However, we’re steering away from the name Laird Connectivity because of the following news:

The Laird Connectivity organization has officially rebranded as Ezurio.

But why Ezurio?

Well, according to the official press release, the new Ezurio name “honors this team’s heritage of connectivity excellence and forward-looking approaches to solving the complex challenges their customers face around the world.” More specifically business-wise, Ezurio combines what was referred to as Laird Connectivity with Boundary Devices, another player with industry expertise in wireless product design and embedded processor development.

Together, the connectivity experts involved comprise Ezurio.

Still a provider of wireless modules, SOMs, single-board computers (SBCs), internal antennas, and IoT sensors and gateways, Ezurio remains committed to providing high-quality solutions and services that tackle complex connectivity-centric needs in the medical, industrial, and commercial sectors (to name a few).

Per Bill Steinike, Ezurio’s CEO:

“At Ezurio, our expanding portfolio of wireless connectivity and processing solutions, along with our secure multi-OS software and accredited wireless testing capabilities, is deeply rooted in our understanding of our customers' unique challenges and aspirations. Ezurio is built on the foundation of our engineering excellence, and we are committed to reducing our customers' total development costs and accelerating their time to market.”
