Accelerating IoT Collaborations and Growth: A News Recap on Soracom

• Soracom + Couchbase: Soracom recently collaborated with cloud database and AI development company Couchbase. Why? Well, it’s simple – Couchbase’s database-as-a-service document model and cloud database platform are well-suited for the equally dynamic and diverse data structures present in myriad IoT environments, suiting it well for IoT deployments. Together, Soracom and Couchbase have offered customers a holistic approach to deploying secure IoT solutions across edge devices, even if the underlying connectivity layer proves more challenging.

• Soracom + Suzuki: Suzuki Motor Corporation – offering well-known products across multiple mobility categories (e.g. automobiles, motorcycles, and outboard motors) – signed an official agreement to actively pursue advanced IoT tech applications in the field of mobility services. This is big news; global progress in electrification and automation (vis-à-vis broad consumer adoption of “connected car” and telematics-based capabilities) is on the rise, and manufacturers are capitalizing on advancements in hardware, software and connectivity to devise new services for driver and passenger safety, comfort and convenience. That’s why Soracom and Suzuki struck this collab; applying leading-edge IoT tech in up-and-coming mobility rollouts is a no-brainer. (So was, as we found out just last week, Suzuki Global Ventures’ (SGV) sizeable investment in Soracom. Clearly, things are faring well.)

• Soracom on the TSE: After previously announcing its approval of this listing back in February, the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) has officially listed Soracom’ shares on the Growth Market of the TSE. With the company’s shares now available for trading, Soracom’s founders, board and employees express huge gratitude to all stakeholders, customers and partners for their encouragement and financial support. Soracom and its cloud-native IoT connectivity platform are in a great position to be recognized and utilized further across industries like manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, automotive and finance.

I’ll close this with a short quote from Yasukawa, one he shared with an audience during an IoT Evolution Expo panel I had the pleasure of attending.
