KORE Expands M2M Solutions Throughout Japan

By Rachel Ramsey February 07, 2014

KORE, a provider of M2M network services, has a pretty broad footprint, including GMS, HSPA, LTE, CDMA and satellite. It works with Tier 1 carriers to offer coverage across the U.S. and Canada, and now, it’s making moves to extend that to the Asia Pacific region.

KORE is now partnering with Micro Technology, which provides research, design and manufacturing services for embedded systems and will act as KORE’s regional partner for Japan.

Micro Technology will also develop end-to-end M2M solutions in vehicle telematics, remote healthcare and factory automation that are connected with the KORE Global M2M Network.

"This new partnership will allow us to drive in-country sales and provide localized support to customers in Japanese," said Shane Murphy, vice president and general manager of KORE Wireless, Asia Pacific, in a statement. "Micro Technology has a history of success in the embedded solution field and an intimate knowledge of the Japanese market. We couldn't have asked for a better partner for the region."

M2M is impacting industries across the board – and those solutions are only as strong as the connections and technology behind them. KORE offers solutions for a variety of use cases, including healthcare, security, environmental services, payment and transaction, insurance, business continuity, digital signage, vehicle location and fleet tracking, industrial monitoring and utilities.

"We've seen demand for M2M wireless solutions growing in Japan for some time," Shinichi Ishimatsu, Micro Technology CEO, said. "Our partnership with KORE now allows us to capitalize on this. Not only can we design and build these solutions for our customers, we can now offer them a full service including a platform and connectivity."
