TrulyHandsFree: Galaxy S7 Voice Recognition

By Chrissie Cluney April 12, 2016

Are you in the market for a smartphone with serious speech recognition technology as a feature?

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has Sensory’s TrulyHandsfree feature, a speech recognition engine embedded within the products to power speech commands that work consistently. Sensory is a company focused on machine learning techniques designed to improve user experience and security in consumer electronics through embedded voice and vision technologies.

Samsung uses Sensory’s TrulyHandsfree speech recognition engine embedded within their products to power speech commands that work all the time, even without Internet access.

“Samsung became the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer by offering the best features and best user experience and Sensory is proud to help make that experience possible,” said Todd Mozer, founder and CEO, Sensory.

Sensory’s TrulyHandsfree technology has been on every Samsung Galaxy smartphone product since the S2. TrulyHandsfree enables a touch-free experience on Samsung’s Galaxy Note tablets, beginning with the original Note launched in 2011. This feature can also be used on the Galaxy Gear smart watches.

Sensory has ported TrulyHandsfree to more platforms than any other speech recognition company, using ultra-low-power deeply embedded ports available for leading DSP/MCU IP cores from ARM, Cadence, CEVA, NXP CoolFlux, Synopsys and Verisilicon. Sensory’s platform for uses for integrated circuits from Audience, Avnera, Cirrus Logic, Conexant, DSPG, Fortemedia, Intel, Invensense, Microsemi, NXP, Qualcomm, QuickLogic, Realtek, STMicroelectronics, TI and Yamaha. TrulyHandsfree can support different languages including US English, UK English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
