Verizon Selects Gemalto for 4G LTE Services

By Ken Briodagh May 09, 2016

The IoT Partnership economy just keeps growing and progressing, which I support because it makes me look like I know what I’m talking about. To continue the trend, Verizon Wireless has announced that it will adopt the latest version of Gemalto’s LinqUs Advanced OTA (AOTA) solution for its 4G LTE services.

“Gemalto is an excellent technology partner and it made sense to migrate to the Advanced OTA platform to better position Verizon for expansion into subscription management, new Trusted Services Hub (TSH) opportunities and IoT,” said Adam Koeppe, Vice President of Network Technology for Verizon Wireless.

The AOTA solution serves as the foundation for next-generation subscriber provisioning and lifecycle management, and will support a more sophisticated and robust card management tool for Verizon's growing network demands. The plan is for it to help Verizon address new markets like the IoT and M2M industries. The LinqUs AOTA framework will also enable Verizon to integrate Trusted Services Hub, roaming management, and secure mobile authentication for digital signature services.

“We are pleased Verizon has chosen Gemalto for the next step of its technology roadmap,” said Rodrigo Serna, President, Americas, Gemalto. “Our Advanced OTA platform facilitates large-scale updates enabling Verizon to quickly implement and deliver innovative services to millions of customers across the U.S.”

The LinqUs solution is designed for all IP 4G networks, and uses Gemalto’s secure polling software to help ensure a high-level success rate when updating the UICC for the download and activation of network and subscriber applications.

By our powers combined, right?
