In a recent announcement, Peregrine Semiconductor, founder of RF SOI (silicon on insulator) and pioneer in advanced RF solutions, has named two new executives. Keith Bargroff has been promoted to serve as the Vice President of engineering, and Sumit Tomar was hired as the Vice President of product marketing. These are both new positions at the company.
Since the Murata acquisition in 2014, Peregrine has experienced tremendous growth—both in employee headcount and in new market opportunities. As the team and product portfolio expanded, Peregrine created the two new senior leadership positions. Semiconductor-industry veterans Keith Bargroff and Sumit Tomar have been selected to bring their knowledge and expertise to Peregrine's growing team.

An industry veteran of more than 25 years, Bargroff is an accomplished engineering leader and designer with a broad range of market and technology expertise including RF, analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, IoT and communications, energy management and instrumentation equipment. Prior to Peregrine, Bargroff served as CTO of Enverv, a fabless semiconductor company he co-founded to develop communications system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for the energy-management and IoT markets. Bargroff was also co-founder, principal engineer and director of technical strategy for RF Magic, a fabless semiconductor company that was acquired by Entropic Communications in 2007. Bargroff has been granted 15 patents and has over 22 pending patent applications.
Tomar is a 20-year industry veteran with a proven track record of marketing and product management successes. No stranger to the RF ecosystem, Tomar has a solid understanding of RF products and has driven product execution from inception to production for 100s of market-shaping products. From 2012 to 2016, Tomar served as the general manager of Qorvo's wireless infrastructure business unit. In addition, he worked in RF product management at Texas Instruments, Sierra Monolithics and Skyworks. His product marketing experience spans 4/5G smartphone and radio access networks, automotive semiconductor, 802.11ax access points, SDN/NFV for data centers, and machine learning and artificial intelligence for mobile edge networks. In 2016, he co-founded C-RAN Inc., a startup that is developing a 5G RF system prototype.
