Mocana Advances Security of the Industrial Internet for GE Digital Alliance

By Chrissie Cluney January 23, 2018

Since 2002, Mocana has provided mission-critical IoT security solutions for embedded systems, industrial controls and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Recently, the company has made another advancement, which has given them a spot in the GE Digital Alliance Program. The program is a partnership of companies dedicated to growing the digital industrial ecosystem. By combining Predix, GE’s edge-to-cloud industrial app development platform, with Mocana’s mission-critical IoT security solutions, joint customers will be able to leverage proven, military-grade embedded security software at the edge to securely connect to the Predix platform.

“With its full-stack solution for securing IoT systems, Mocana is solving critical challenges of defending against cyber attacks, making devices trustworthy and securing communications,” said Michael Dolbec, managing director, GE Ventures. “Mocana’s IoT Security Platform can be embedded across GE’s industrial products and IIoT solutions to make them more secure.”

Mocana’s embedded security software can be implemented on industrial control and automation equipment. This ensures that both the device and its data can be trusted. The company has earned their customers’ trust through their product by securing the boot process, firmware and the transmission of data between the edge device, gateway and cloud.

The company has deep experience in securing industrial control system (ICS) used in power generation and distribution, aerospace, avionics, defense, healthcare, oil and gas, smart buildings and cities.

“We’re excited to be partnering with GE Digital to deliver strong security solutions for industrial environments and, additionally, to help educate other GE Digital Alliance partners, including systems integrators and technology providers, on best practices for industrial cybersecurity,” said William Diotte, CEO, Mocana. “It is our hope that this collaboration drives a greater understanding of and demand for secure industrial control systems that integrate hardware-based roots of trust for use in digital industrial transformation initiatives.”

Mocana will make more advances due to being included in the GE Digital Alliance Program. This will ensure that IoT will flourish with all of the positive inventions that have been created due to it.
